On Friday, March 9, 2018, at 11 a.m., a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU) and Bahamas Technical & Vocational Institute (BTVI) will take place at the Hilton Room of the Wendall P. Holmes Building for Business on the campus of Bethune-Cookman University.
B-CU continues to expand its global footprint in the Bahamas. In July 2017, B-CU was accredited by the National Accreditation and Equivalency Council of the Bahamas (NAECOB) to offer online courses, degree programs and a physical location.
This transfer agreement between B-CU and BTVI stipulates the benefits to students who transfer from BTVI with an Associate’s degree into B-CU's Bachelor’s degree programs. The MOU also addresses the responsibilities of each institution relevant to all constituents for the purpose of facilitating an informed transfer process. The benefits to students reflect the commitment that B-CU has to furthering its partnership with BTVI.
On hand to sign the agreement will be Dr. Robert W. Robertson, President, Bahamas Technical & Vocational Institute and the designee for Interim President Hubert L. Grimes, Esquire, Dr. Nahendra Patel, Senior Advisor to the President for Institutional Effectivenes and Compliance, Bethune-Cookman University.
The MOU will build integration and promote a pathway of academic opportunities for students who wish to earn Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at B-CU, especially those interested in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering and Math disciplines.
This initiative is aligned with key performance indicators which address increasing global partnerships, increasing access, enrollment and revenue.
