The Bob Billingslea School of Hospitality Management Ranks Top 10 in Most Affordable Online Colleges
According to Onlineu.org and SR Education Group, B-CU ranks 8th for the 2018 Most Affordable Online Bachelor’s degrees in Hospitality Management. Twenty colleges and universities from across the nation were selected in making an effort to provide economical options for students to receive their bachelor’s degree. “We are truly excited about the ranking of the Hospitality Management degree program, the accolade means a lot to the university as a whole!” said Dr. Williams-Bryant, Dean of the Hospitality Management program.
Most recently, the school was awarded approximately $11,000 for student scholars from the Lodging and Hospitality Association, presenting three deserving students with scholarships for the first academic quarter. This spring semester, the School of Hospitality Management has also launched a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management with a concentration in Event and Entertainment Management. The new concentration in Event and Entertainment Management offers Hospitality Management degree-seeking students the option to develop their management skills in events and entertainment; a rapidly growing and thriving segment of the industry.
The School of Hospitality Management offers hands-on and leadership training skills to students that demonstrate an interest in developing careers in the hospitality industry. “Students from our program work among highly competitive companies in the hospitality industry,” Dean Bryant added.
Through these achievements and new additions to the growing program, Students will also develop a broad skill set to successfully manage various genres of events from concept to operation, using local industry as their classroom. Students will be exposed to all facets of event and entertainment management including risk management, marketing, finance, leadership, communication, critical thinking, problem solving, team work and logistics. The Event and Entertainment management curriculum will incorporate innovative technologies and emerging trends in the industry. Some examples of events are weddings, fairs, trade shows, conference, conventions, meetings and concerts.
In 2016, The Bob Billingslea School of Hospitality Management also received the OnlineU 2016 Best Value Schools for Online Degrees under the category of Hospitality Management. B-CU ranked 21 on the list offering an online Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management Accelerated Program.
