B-CU Takes "Pre-Alumni Council of the Year" Honors During UNCF Annual National Alumni Council Leadership Conference and Alumni Summit

The B-CU Pre-Alumni Council attended the UNCF National Alumni Council Leadership Conference and Alumni Summit in Atlanta, GA February 7 – 10, 2019, where they participated in several workshops focused on empowerment, career readiness, networking, and more. Students enjoyed the camaraderie with fellow HBCU peers. The group won Pre-Alumni Council of the Year honors.

Pre-Alumni CouncilJerykah Thomas received the UNCF Conference Social Media Scholarship. "Receiving the $5,000 scholarship will help to reduce my debt load and aid me in continuing my mentorship program. As a UNCF ambassador, I mentor freshmen and sophomore first-generation students, helping them to find the many scholarship opportunities available to them through UNCF," said Thomas.

Landon Peterson was the recipient of a $2,000 William "Bill" McGill Male Scholarship Award. The students were accompanied by Alumni Giving Manager Marah Beltz and Manager of Special Events Sharon Bostick-Isaac.

B-CU alumni receiving recognition were Keon Williams, "Hall of Honor" and Carneal Waddey, "Young Alumni Award." #UNCF75
