Dan Ryan Winner at CoSIDA Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest

DanBethune-Cookman University Athletics Senior Writer/Historian Dan Ryan was a district winner in the 2018-19 CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America Strategic Communicators for College Athletics) Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest.

Ryan garnered “Best Interview/Blog” for District 3, which includes Colleges and Universities from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, for “Hall of Fame Induction News A Shared Joy” that chronicled the reactions of the 2018 B-CU Athletic Hall of Fame inductees finding out they were to be enshrined.

“That was an amazing experience to be a part of, let alone being able to tell that story,” Ryan said.

This is Ryan’s third CoSIDA writing award. Last November, he won two awards in the annual Florida Press Club Excellence in Journalism Competition.
